THC Free Disclaimer

This THC Free Disclaimer was last updated on February 3, 2020.  Please read carefully.

The majority of drug screens/tests target Delta-9 Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and do not detect the presence of Cannabidiol (CBD) or other legal natural hemp based constituents. However, studies have shown that consuming hemp-derived products could lead to a positive drug test when screening urine and blood specimens. Therefore, if you are subject to any form of drug screening/testing, please consult your healthcare practitioner, drug screening/testing company or employer prior to consuming our products. By agreeing to Joiya’s Terms and Conditions and placing an order with us, you are indicating that you understand that failing a drug test is a possibility when consuming hemp-derived products, and that you waive the right to make a claim against Joiya for any matters related to any drug test you take or the results of any such drug test, including the loss of employment or any employment opportunity or the imposition of a civil or criminal penalty.

FAQ’s related to THC:

Can I fail a drug test if I use your products?

Our Full-Spectrum products can contain up to 0.3% THC (in accordance with federal regulations) so there is a possibility that you could fail a drug test if you consume these products.

We have THC Free products that utilize Broad-Spectrum CBD oil as well as CBD Isolate. These products contain undetectable amounts of THC according to independent third party lab tests. Unfortunately, there have been some cases where people have claimed to have only taken THC Free products and still failed a drug test (not Joiya’s products).

There is insufficient research as to why this occurs (speculation is that the source of CBD and/or its testing was not truthful).

Therefore, if you are concerned about failing a drug test, please consult your healthcare practitioner, drug screening/testing company or employer prior to consuming our products.

There are CBD/THC ratio tests that can be performed to validate that the trace amount of THC that could lead to a failed drug test is the result of CBD product use and not illicit drug use. We recommend you discuss this with your employer upfront to avoid any issues.

Why does it show that there is some THC in the CBD distillate used to make a broad-spectrum, THC Free product?

In order for us to use the term, “THC Free” for our products, the product must be tested by a third party lab and show that the level of THC in the final product is undetectable.

Sometimes, the CBD distillate used to create that product may have a very small trace amount of THC that is just above the detection limit. When this CBD distillate is used in the formula, the small concentration used results in undetectable THC levels in the final product.

It’s also important to note that various independent labs have different thresholds, or limits of detection, that can reliably quantify the amount of THC in a sample. There is no set standard or law as to what level THC must be undetectable but Joiya uses the limit of detection at 10 ppm in our final products.
