Where are your products manufactured?
Our products are manufactured in the USA by licensed manufacturing facilities that follow cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practices) as defined by the Food and Drug Administration.
Why is there Ethanol in the Sleep Spray?
A small amount of ethanol is required to enable the melatonin to be suspended in solution.
Ethanol, also called alcohol, is a clear, colorless liquid and the principle ingredient in alcoholic beverages like beer, wine or brandy. Because it can readily dissolve in water and other organic compounds, ethanol also is an ingredient in a range of products including personal care and beauty products.
Is it ok to ingest CBD oil if I am taking medications?
We always recommend discussing any medication concerns with your physician.
Are Joiya Products Organic?
While our products are not certified organic by the USDA, we use organic and natural ingredients in our products.
How often is the product tested?
Joiya tests the raw ingredient CBD distillate or isolate for each product batch identified by a specific lot code printed on the product. We also test the finished goods to further ensure safety. We also do an additional round of quality control tests for the THC level of our finished goods to ensure they comply with federal regulations.
What is the base oil used?
Most of Joiya’s tinctures are made with MCT oil sourced from organic coconut oil.
Why does it show that there is some THC in the CBD distillate used to make a broad-spectrum and/or THC Free product?
In order for us to use the term, “THC Free” for our products, the product must be tested by a third party lab and show that the level of THC in the final product is undetectable.
Sometimes, the CBD distillate used to create that product may have a very small trace amount of THC that is just above the detection limit. When this CBD distillate is used in the formula, the small concentration used results in undetectable THC levels in the final product.
It’s also important to note that various independent labs have different thresholds, or limits of detection, that can reliably quantify the amount of THC in a sample. There is no set standard or law as to what level THC must be undetectable but Joiya uses the limit of detection at 10 ppm in our final products.
What Farm(s) does our CBD oil come from?
We purchase from various farms in Colorado and Kentucky that utilize organic farming practices and all raw material is tested via a third party lab prior to being used in our products.
Can customers see the tests we run on products?
Yes, a Certificate of Analysis is available on each product page for each batch/lot number.
Who is doing our 3rd party testing?
We are utilizing several ISO certified labs to run our tests. We use several labs in order to ensure the testing is accurate and to validate the tests being run at any individual lab.
Who are our investors?
Our investors are a group of professional investment bankers that are deeply involved in the emerging CBD and cannabis markets. In their role as investment bankers, they have raised approximately $60 billion for small and midsize companies around the world.
What is Joiya’s return policy?
Joiya offers a 30 day unconditional consumer satisfaction policy on consumer purchases. Return product container, either opened or unopened, with evidence of purchase, to be received at Joiya, within 30 days of purchase for a full refund.
What is the difference between the hemp plant and marijuana plant?
The hemp plant has been engineered to be high in CBD with only trace amounts of THC. Marijuana is engineered to be high in THC and lower in CBD. Both carry many of the same compounds but the hemp derived CBD extract does not have psychoactive properties.
How do I use the tincture?
We recommend first shaking the bottle to ensure the CBD and flavoring are evenly mixed. Next, fill the dropper to the desired serving size and dispense the oil under the tongue. We recommend letting the oil sit under the tongue for between one and two minutes before swallowing. This ensures optimal absorption.
Is this a hemp oil or hemp seed oil?
Joiya’s raw ingredient CBD is all derived from cannabinoid-rich hemp oil from the aerial parts of the plant (flower, leaves, stems). Hemp seed oil is made from the seeds of the hemp plant and contains only trace amounts of CBD. Joiya does use hemp seed oil in some products as an additional nutrient because it does contain beneficial omega fatty acids.
How is the CBD extracted from the plant?
Joiya’s products are made from CBD raw materials extracted using various extraction techniques such as CO2 and ethanol extraction.
What is an expiration date?
An expiration date is placed on each individual lot (or batch) of a product at the time of manufacturing. This date ensures the quality and freshness of the product when it is stored properly and unopened and/or unused. Sometimes, you may see the term “best by” date which means the same thing. The expiration date is usually found on the bottom of the product near the lot code.
Can a product be used by the expiration date?
Joiya strongly recommends using the product prior to the expiration date to ensure the best product experience and efficacy.
Will CBD make me feel “high”?
No. CBD is non-psychoactive. There are only trace amounts of THC in Joiya’s full spectrum hemp extract. The majority of Joiya’s products are THC free.
Are there any risks or side effects associated with CBD?
According to the World Health Organization, “CBD it is generally well tolerated, with a good safety profile.” However, Joiya always advises discussing using CBD with your doctor.
What other helpful compounds are in the Full Spectrum Hemp Extract?
Joiya Full Spectrum Hemp Extract also has a host of beneficial compounds such as terpenes and flavonoids, as well as other cannabinoids, including CBD.
How much should I take? Is there a recommended amount?
Everybody is different. It is recommended to start slow with a small amount and see how you feel. You can always increase as you see fit to feel the expected benefits.
What is the difference between “Full Spectrum” and Broad Spectrum?
Our Full Spectrum Hemp Extract uses the whole flower and has the full array of cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids including trace amounts of THC. CBD Broad Spectrum extract is further refined to remove THC to undetectable levels while still providing a range of cannabinoids, terpenes or flavonoids. In contrast, CBD isolate contains only CBD with no other cannabinoids, terpenes or flavonoids.
Can I fail a drug test if I use your products?
Our Full-Spectrum products can contain up to 0.3% Delta-9 THC (in accordance with federal regulations) so there is a possibility that you could fail a drug test if you consume these products.
We have THC Free* products that utilize broad-spectrum hemp oil as well as cannabinoid isolates. These products contain undetectable amounts of delta-9 THC according to independent third party lab tests. Unfortunately, there have been some cases where people have claimed to have only taken THC Free products and still failed a drug test (not Joiya’s products).
There is insufficient research as to why this occurs (speculation is that the source of CBD and/or its testing was not truthful).
Therefore, if you are concerned about failing a drug test, please consult your healthcare practitioner, drug screening/testing company or employer prior to consuming our products.
There are CBD/THC ratio tests that can be performed to validate that the trace amount of delta-9 THC that could lead to a failed drug test is the result of CBD product use and not illicit drug use. We recommend you discuss this with your employer upfront to avoid any issues.
*THC Free is defined as a product that contains undetectable amounts of delta-9 THC according to independent, third party lab tests.
What is Delta-8 THC?
Did you know that delta-9 THC, the compound commonly known simply as “THC” is not the only THC compound found in the cannabis plant? There are at least 5 other THC varieties (isomers) that have been identified in the cannabis plant today. One of those, delta-8 THC, is found at a much smaller percentage than delta-9 THC. Delta-8 and delta-9 THC differ by the location of the double bond within the molecule. This means that the molecules have the same chemical makeup, but how they are put together is different – and this causes a big difference in how the molecule interacts with our body’s own endocannabinoid system. The psychotropic effects are significantly lower for delta-8 THC than for delta-9 THC.
What does a THC Free product mean?
Joiya defines “THC Free” as a product that contains undetectable amounts of delta-9 THC according to independent, third party lab tests. This amount is usually under 10 ppm and can be confirmed on each product’s Certificate of Analysis (COA).
